I've been re-watching the seasons the past couple of days in preparation for season 4 next month. I love this show so freaking much! Can't wait!!! :D

Well, yesterday I had to wake up early so Gashi could take me home to take his dad to the doctor's. We argued on the way home - I was upset that I hadn't gotten much sleep, and Gashi, rather than be sympathetic, got irritated, saying "I knew it could happen." It's like, shit, dude, I'm not mad THAT I had to wake up. I'm just mad that you couldn't be SYMPATHETIC about it. But I ended up ragging on him about things I WASN'T upset about, just because I was angry. Something I definitely need to work on. But it was resolved by the end of the car ride, and yeah.

I was sick yesterday, as I have been for a few days, feverish, sinus-headachey, and so on. Actually, it's been since Friday, I think. So, a while. I didn't take a nap yesterday, though, because I wanted to get my sleep schedule back on track. Instead, I did EVERYTHING: took my online exam and officially finished my first semester of school, washed the dishes, cleaned the counters, and even scrubbed out the microwave before work. I went to sleep around midnight, and slept through til morning. Then, for most of the day today, I slept. I got up to eat, to pee, and to waffle about should-I-get-up. Eventually I decided that my body was sending me a message, so I took some medicine, mentally canceled my plans for the day, and got bedrest until 3:30 when I had to shower and go to work.

Work was good - knees got really sore by the end of the shift, but the money was good, and it was fun. Tomorrow, though. Tomorrow's gonna be fun. I hope we get an early rush and I get to go home early. Gonna come home...maybe cuddle some kitties. Maybe I'll see if I can spend the night at my mom's. I dunno.

There's more stuff that's going on with Gashi. He might not be able to make it to Christmas. It's not really my news to share, so until I have his permission, I'm not going to be publicising his business. Suffice it to say that if you'd keep his family in your thoughts/prayers/etc, it'd be appreciated.

Okay, so apparently I suck and am totally incapable of not only updating but updating an acceptable amount of times within a month. Forgive my sucktitude, I shall hopefully remedy it over the weekend. With pictures.

Before I am off (please don't throw fruit), thank you anonymous person for the virtual cookie with love! Even though it has magically disappeared from my profile page.

Double Also: I officially start Xmas Vacation today (four days is vacay for me, yo, don't laugh) and am beyond happy that I no longer work in retail and thus am not forced to work tomorrow. More importantly not forced to drive into work when it will be snowing/ice rain/sleet etc. I would therefore like to post a hearty Nelson-inspired HA HA to George Watts, my former employer. It sucketh to be you-eth. And have to brag (because it's the first time it's happened) upon receiving not only a Xmas bonus from the board but also a monetary Xmas gift from my boss. Totally unexpected but nonetheless very awesome. It now means that Lappie (my laptop, original, non?) can afford a portable hard drive on which to backup all its awesome.

 Tomorrow, I am being spirited away to The Middle of Nowhere, West Virginia. In any case, I will be gone until Monday (at the latest) and will be going back to work on Tuesday. (: SO! That means I hope you all have a HAPPY and SAFE holiday whilst I'm away and not able to access the computer. I hope everyone eats a lot, spends a lot of time with family, and even though I'll be speaking to you before the new year, HAPPY NEW YEAR.

About two months ago I had to wipe my computer completely, meaning I obviously had to reinstall the sims and all my custom content.
Most everything is well and dandy, but I'm fairly certain I have a corrupt skin, and I have no idea how you'd go about fixing such a thing.

I use Pooklet's Compulsion skin blends as defaults, and have since around the time that they were released, and they just recently started acting up (after my reinstall)

Every time I would age up a male into elderhood my game would crash, the skin worked fine on every other age group, just hates the elder male.

Steps I've already been through:
deleting and redownloading said skin (S1 compulsion blend)
taking out all my other elder CC in case it was a piece of clothing triggering the crash


For right now I've deleted the S1 and replaced it with a different default, but I'd really like to use my old default again, I miss it.
I'm also pretty sure I've read about someone with a problem with this particular skin, but my google-fu is weak.

If anyone knows how you'd go about fixing a corrupt skin, I'd be more than happy to poke around at it.

So, I figured I haven't uploaded a sim in a while, and I might as well stick Pyre up here. I love her so and I think she'd get up to some great shenanigans in your game as well, if you'll have her! Anyway, thanks to the lovely pixel_trade  tutorial, here is Pyre for your enjoyment.

You may remember me mentioning that my Mother got a job as assistant activities director in a long-term care facility. They hired her because she had been coming in each week for years to volunteer by doing a music service and they knew she was good with the residents.

Well today they called her, and told her (after she's worked there for 2 months) that she has a choice of coming in to do the music service each week, or of working there. She cannot do both. They claim it's a corporate discussion.

This is just so unfair, she's been going in doing services there for 8 years, and now they are telling her she has to stop if she wants to keep her job. She can't really afford to quit her job, so it looks like she will have to give up her volunteer work.

Okay, so I have this problem. After getting my game to work and all that (now I don't have to use the CD to play, thankfully so it won't tear up now), I go to play the game. I get half-way into playing a household and the next thing I know, I get this pop-up saying to run Check Disc because of these two neighborhoods, previously made yet deleted from the game. I go to delete the N004 and N005 from my Sims 2 Neighborhood folder, but it won't let me delete it.

Does anyone know where the Check Disc is (I searched in the search place on my computer but didn't find it -- I might not have the right name for it -- I could start up my game and capture a picture of what it says and post a link to said picture) or know what I can do? I had problems deleting the neighborhoods before... so, I would uninstall my games and reinstall them to see if that would work but this is the first time I got the pop-up telling me to run Disc Check/Check Disc.

So I seem to have a glitch. I searched for it around here and on Google but I didn't find anything exactly like mine. For some strange reason my sims just turn invisible. I can see the plumbob floating and walking around as the sim does things but I cannot click the sim itself, though I can click the thumbnail and I can still tell the sim to do things.
Changing clothes or appearance does not fix it. It seems only aging the sim up/down fixes it. But it's happened twice so I "fixed" it and came here because it was legit freaking me out. This has happened to 2 sims in my legacy and it's very recent, it never happened before gen 5.

Has this happened to anybody here before? Is my neighborhood going to explode? Do I need to make preparations and start backing up all of my legacy sims?

Also my sims keep "jumping" over and over if they aren't occupied. Like they have to do something at all times, if they just stand there doing nothing they starting jumping. If one "jumping sim" dies another one will start to do it almost as if my game is making sure two sims in that home keep having that error at all times. This error has been going on since gen 2.

So...there's this new community for Simmers, allthingsimlish . There's only one post there now, but I think it's a good one. Basically you just comment with your name, and then others will anonymously reply to your comment with nice things about you!!! I think it's a sweet idea, especially with all that nasty hate over at simsecret . I did my comment, and replies a few days ago, but I forgot to pimp the love like the post asks to, so maybe that's why my name is still blank. :-P But I'm pimping the love now!!! So everyone go check out allthingsimlish  and comment on everyone you know. :)

Is there anything that'll let me change a Sim's skin tone in game? I don't even want to add a custom skin, just turn him from S2 to S3 because I made a mistake by not making him S3 to begin with.

The Sim Blender won't do it.
